Iron Flame

The first year is when some lose their lives. The second year is when the rest risk losing their humanity.

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College—Violet included. But surviving Threshing was only the first impossible test designed to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky.

Now the real training begins.

The challenges are grueling, brutally demanding, and designed to push the riders beyond their limits. And a new vice commandant has made it his personal mission to show Violet exactly how powerless she is—unless she’s willing to betray the man she loves.

Violet may not possess the physical strength of the other riders, but she still has her intelligence, determination, and a will of iron. And Basgiath’s leadership seems to have forgotten one of the most important lessons she has learned:

Dragon riders make their own rules.

But determination alone may not be enough to survive the year.

Violet knows the truth about a secret that has been hidden at Basgiath War College for centuries—and not even dragon fire may be enough to save them from what comes next.
